God of the Impossible

You can expect that if God is going to do the “impossible” that somewhere in that process He will ask of you what seems absolutely impossible!

You can expect that if God is going to do the “impossible” that somewhere in that process He will ask of you what seems absolutely impossible!

Now Moses was not participating in his first rodeo! He had gone from poverty to incomparable wealth to refugee poverty. He knew the value of a dollar. He knew the price of commitment. He knew that what he was about to ask for would come across as an absolute impossibility. To obey the God of Israel in the task of preparing a dwelling place for Him in their midst, would take a major sacrifice on the part of every single family and each individual.

“This is the thing that the LORD has commanded, ‘Take from among you a contribution to the LORD. Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the LORD’s contribution.’”—Exodus 35

Where will wilderness nomads with no home, no salary, no steady employment, no savings accounts—where will THEY find such resources? Ah, it suddenly became clear. On the day before the exodus from Egypt, God had moved the hearts of their masters to give to them all that they had asked for. On the eve of departure they “plundered” the Egyptians!

So, why did God give them this windfall? Not so they could spend it on themselves. He gave it before they understood the reason why, in order that THEY might share in the joy of giving! “Whoever is of a generous heart…”

A $57,000,000 construction project in the wilderness, funded entirely by the generosity of God’s people!

You can expect that if God is going to do the “impossible” that somewhere in that process He will ask of you what seems absolutely impossible!

“Financing provided by God through the faithful giving of His people!” Impossible? Not with GOD!

Experienced any unexplainable windfall lately? It’s God doing His impossible!

See you Sunday, Church!
