Adult Sunday School
Adult Equipping Classes
Sunday mornings, 10:30-11:45am (August 2010)
This August will be the launch of a new concept for the Faith Bible Church adult education program. For the months of August, December and April we will devote the majority of the Adult Sunday School classes to be short courses of training and equipping the body for works of service in accordance with Ephesians 4:11-13.
The classes will be short courses that stimulate Christian thought and living that nurtures disciple-making. They will focus on how we can have relationships, conversations and activities to promote the expression and hearing of the gospel.
The purpose is that those who attend these classes will grow in:
1. Their convictions in their knowledge of God and the Bible
2. Their character as they learn how to better live their lives in accords with sound doctrine
3. Their competency to speak God’s Word and the gospel
*These classes will not meet on August 8th in lieu of a Missions Report.

PROPHETS (June - August)
Teacher: Darryl DeGraff
Location: Room G
This is a continuing study of the books of Joel, Amos, Obadiah and Jonah.
Our God is "gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness, and relenting of evil. Who knows? He might turn and relent and leave behind him a blessing..." (Joel 2:13-14, cf Ex 34:6-7). Judah and Jerusalem (cf. Joel) ... and Nineveh (cf. Jonah) experienced God's relenting and blessing. But for Israel (cf. Amos) and Edom (cf. Obadiah), "I will spare them no longer" (Amos 8:2). What does the opening quote reveal about the character of our God? And what does it say to people, both Jew and Gentile, who are the objects of his blessing or cursing? And what part do people have in these dealings? We'll consider the contributions of Joel, Amos, Obadiah and Jonah to these subjects... and more!
*TEACHING THE FIRST PRINCIPLES SERIES (June - August)
Teacher: George Lockyer
Location: Room E
This class will continue for those who have regularly attended.
First Principles will be an on-going series of classes beginning this Fall in Sunday School and will be available for any type of small group (FLOCKs, discipling, or mentoring). This is a series of studies in a modern-day catechism but of a significantly different type. It is based upon a new approach to the learning process, a new educational method, and requires learning a new skill set. This class is designed to equip those who would like to lead these studies with the basics needed to use The First Principles Series effectively in founding believers and churches in the faith and leading them down a path of learning to think biblically through a serious, ordered learning process.
